Barry is the furthest regular part of our patch, about thirty-five minutes away, and we get there several times a week.
Because of the distance we are straight with people: for a single small item in Barry, the Vale’s own bulky collection at £30 for three items will probably be cheaper than us, and you should use it if you can get the item to the kerb. Where we earn our money here is the bigger stuff – full house and garden clearances, landlord turnarounds and anything that has to come out from inside the property.
What we clear in Barry
Everything a household or a business produces short of the specialist stuff: house and flat clearances, garden and garage clear-outs, builders waste and rubble, single items like sofas, mattresses, fridges and washing machines, shop and office clearances, and bagged household waste when you have simply got more than the council will take.
We cannot take asbestos, gas bottles, chemicals, oils, tyres or clinical waste. If you have got any of those, ring us anyway and we will point you at somebody who can.
What it costs in Barry
Same prices here as everywhere else we cover - we do not load a price because of your postcode.
| What you have got | Roughly | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Bagged household waste | Per bag | from £3 a bag |
| Fridge or freezer | Per item | from £15 |
| Quarter or half load | A bedroom, a garage, a small garden | Send a photo |
| Full load | A house clearance or a builders job | Send a photo |
Everything is included: we load it, we take it, we dispose of it and we do the paperwork. Send one photo and you will have a fixed price back, usually the same day. See how the load sizes work.
Your other options in Barry
We would rather you knew all of them, including the ones that do not involve paying us.
The council collection
Vale of Glamorgan Council runs a bulky waste collection at £30 for three items plus £5.50 for each additional item, up to a maximum of five. If you can wait for a slot and you can get the items out to the kerb yourself, it is cheaper than we are and you should use it. Where it falls down is that it is kerbside only, there is a limit on items, and the refusal list is long - no building materials, no garden waste, no tyres, no paint, no car parts.
Us
Right when it is heavy, awkward, upstairs, urgent, or on the council’s refusal list. We carry it out, you do not lift anything, and it is gone today rather than in three weeks.
Getting to you
Barry is the far end of our patch at about thirty-five minutes, so we tend to book Barry jobs together and give you a morning or afternoon slot rather than a vague day. Barry Island parking is difficult through the summer. The Waterfront developments are easy; the older terraces around Cadoxton and the Buttrills are the usual tight-fronted streets.
Regularly working in and around: Barry town, Barry Island, Cadoxton, Gibbonsdown, Colcot, Buttrills and the Waterfront.
