Prices, in public

What it costs, before you ring

Most firms round here will not tell you a price until they are stood on your drive. Ours are on the website, and they are the price you pay - collection, all the loading, disposal and the paperwork included.

the most common size

About 15 bin bags

A small bedroom clear-out, or a boot-load you cannot fit in the car

Three-quarter load

for bigger clear-outs

the big jobs

About 60 bin bags

A full house clearance or a big builders job

Price this load

No VAT to add, no call-out fee, no gate fee. Some of the bigger firms covering this area advertise a load from £25 and then add a call-out charge of nearly £60 on top. We do not do that. The number we quote you is the number you pay, and we will put it in writing before we set off.

How it works

Booked in four minutes, gone the same day

We come back with a firm number, usually within the hour. If it is not right for us, we will say so and tell you who to ring.

We turn up and load

From wherever it is - upstairs, the back garden, a locked garage. You do not need to move a thing beforehand.

Sorted and recycled

We sweep up after ourselves, then sort the load and recycle everything we can. Paperwork on request, every time.

The bit nobody tells you

If your rubbish gets fly-tipped, it can come back on you

This is the part most people do not know, and it is the reason it matters who you hand your waste to.

Under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, you have a legal duty of care over your own household waste. In Wales, if you do not take reasonable steps to check that the person taking it away is a registered waste carrier, you can be issued a fixed penalty notice of £300 - reduced to £150 if you pay within ten days. That is set out in The Household Waste Duty of Care (Fixed Penalties) (Wales) Regulations 2019.

It is not automatic. You are not fined simply because someone dumped your sofa. You are fined for not checking first. Which is why we make checking easy.

Three things to ask anyone before you pay them
  1. What is your waste carrier registration number? In Wales it starts with CBDU.
  2. Can I see it on the Natural Resources Wales public register? Wales is regulated by NRW, not the Environment Agency - most price guides online get this wrong.
  3. Will you give me something in writing saying what you took and where it went?

Fly-tipping in Wales ran to 48,367 recorded incidents in 2024–25, up 15% on the year before, and 71% of it was household waste - someone’s sofa, someone’s bags. In Caerphilly county borough alone, reported incidents rose 63%. Nearly all of it started with somebody paying a stranger with a van.

Skip or van?

Usually cheaper than a skip. Always less hassle.

A skip sounds simpler until you price the permit and realise you are the one filling it.

A 6-yard skip in Cardiff

£132–£220plus £88 for a 28-day highway permit if it goes on the road

  • You load every last bit of it yourself
  • Permit needed the moment it leaves your drive
  • Sits outside for a week or more
  • Sofas and armchairs are not allowed in it at all
  • Fridges, freezers and electricals refused
  • Fill it above the line and they will not take it

A half load with us

One fixed priceall in - collection, loading, disposal and paperwork

  • We do every bit of the lifting
  • No permit, nothing left on the street
  • Gone the same day, often within hours
  • Sofas handled properly under POPs rules
  • Fridges taken to a licensed treatment facility
  • You only pay for the space you actually use

Skip prices are typical Cardiff rates including hire and collection; the permit figure is Cardiff Council’s published charge. Check both before you decide - for a really heavy load of rubble, a skip can still work out better, and we will tell you if it does.

FAQs

Questions we get asked

How much does it cost to have rubbish taken away?

It depends on how much there is. Bagged household waste is from £3 a bag, and fridges and freezers are from £15 an item. For anything bigger we price by how much space it takes up in the van - send us one photo and you will have a fixed figure back, usually the same day. That price covers collection, all the loading, the disposal and the paperwork, and there is no call-out fee on top. The load sizes are explained on our prices page.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

No. The price we quote is the price you pay. Several firms advertising in this area quote a low headline price and then add a call-out charge of around £60 on top - we think that is a rotten way to do business.

Can you come out the same day?

Usually, yes. If you ring before midday there is a good chance we can clear it that afternoon, especially in Machen, Caerphilly, Bedwas, Trethomas and Risca. If we cannot get to you today we will tell you straight away rather than leave you waiting.

Do I have to carry it out to the kerb?

No, and you should not have to. We take it from wherever it is - upstairs, the back garden, a loft, a locked garage - and the price is the same either way. That is the main thing that separates us from a council bulky collection, which is kerbside only.

Are you a licensed waste carrier?

Yes. We are registered with Natural Resources Wales, which is the regulator for Wales rather than the Environment Agency. Ask us for our registration number and check it on the NRW public register before you book - with us or with anybody else.

What will you not take?

Asbestos of any kind, gas bottles and cylinders, chemicals, solvents, oils and fuel, tyres, and clinical or medical waste. Those need a specialist licensed carrier and it would be wrong of us to pretend otherwise. Tell us what you have got and we will point you to someone who can take it.

Do you take fridges and freezers?

Yes, and properly. Fridges and freezers are classed as hazardous waste because there are harmful gases in two places - the refrigerant in the cooling circuit and the blowing agent in the insulation foam. They have to travel upright and undamaged, and go to a permitted facility for degassing. They cannot simply be tipped in with a general load. Some firms in this area refuse them altogether; we do not.

Do you work weekends?

Seven days a week, including bank holidays, 07:00 to 19:00. Weekends are often the easiest time for us to get to Cardiff and Newport.
