Cardiff is a twenty-minute run for us down the A468 and we are in the city most days.
Two things worth knowing if you are in Cardiff. First, the council will collect fully recyclable items free of charge as part of its bulky waste service – that includes fridges, washing machines and spring mattresses. If you can get it to the kerb and wait for a slot, use that; we would rather tell you than take your money unnecessarily.
Second, where the council cannot help is everything else on the refusal list: building materials, garden waste, car parts, tyres, paint, gas bottles, fibreglass and pianos. And it is kerbside only, always. That is what we are for – the three-piece suite on the second floor of a Cathays terrace, the builders waste behind a Canton extension, the flat that has to be emptied by Friday.
What we clear in Cardiff
Everything a household or a business produces short of the specialist stuff: house and flat clearances, garden and garage clear-outs, builders waste and rubble, single items like sofas, mattresses, fridges and washing machines, shop and office clearances, and bagged household waste when you have simply got more than the council will take.
We cannot take asbestos, gas bottles, chemicals, oils, tyres or clinical waste. If you have got any of those, ring us anyway and we will point you at somebody who can.
What it costs in Cardiff
Same prices here as everywhere else we cover - we do not load a price because of your postcode.
| What you have got | Roughly | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Bagged household waste | Per bag | from £3 a bag |
| Fridge or freezer | Per item | from £15 |
| Quarter or half load | A bedroom, a garage, a small garden | Send a photo |
| Full load | A house clearance or a builders job | Send a photo |
Everything is included: we load it, we take it, we dispose of it and we do the paperwork. Send one photo and you will have a fixed price back, usually the same day. See how the load sizes work.
Your other options in Cardiff
We would rather you knew all of them, including the ones that do not involve paying us.
The council collection
Cardiff Council runs a bulky waste collection at £12.50 for one or two items and £25 for three or four - and free for fully recyclable items including fridges, washing machines and spring mattresses. If you can wait for a slot and you can get the items out to the kerb yourself, it is cheaper than we are and you should use it. Where it falls down is that it is kerbside only, there is a limit on items, and the refusal list is long - no building materials, no garden waste, no tyres, no paint, no car parts.
Us
Right when it is heavy, awkward, upstairs, urgent, or on the council’s refusal list. We carry it out, you do not lift anything, and it is gone today rather than in three weeks.
Getting to you
Cardiff is mostly about parking rather than distance. Roath, Cathays, Canton and Adamsdown are dense terraced streets with residents-only permit parking and back lanes that are often blocked or gated - so we plan those jobs for outside the school run and we will usually work from the front. The city centre and Cardiff Bay have loading windows and bus lanes to work around. Student areas around Cathays are at their worst in late June and early July, which is also when the most rubbish appears.
Regularly working in and around: Canton, Roath, Cathays, Splott, Grangetown, Adamsdown, Llanishen, Whitchurch, Rhiwbina, Llanrumney, Rumney, Ely and Pentwyn.
